Sendero Environmental LLC was founded by Ken Hunter in 2018 to expand access to environmental services in the Southwestern region.  In January of 2022, Dan Apodaca and Sherry Marin took over Sendero to continue providing high quality environmental services to our clients and community.  Dan and Sherry have over 35 years experience in the industry and are excited to serve your environmental,        hydrogeological, and drone service needs.

Dan is originally from Albuquerque and grew up here in town. He studied Environmental Science at UNM and has been a consultant since 2013. He enjoys rock climbing, skiing, ice climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, cooking, and photography. He is involved in the American Alpine Club as the Southwest Regional Editor for Accidents in North American Climbing. You'll find him in the mountains exploring or hanging out with his daughter.

Sherry Marin
Owner/Environmental Professional

NMED Water Sampling Tech Level 2

OSHA HAZWOPER Supervisor 40hr Certified

MSHA Part 46 Certified

AHERA Asbestos Inspector

Sherry is originally from Montana; but has lived in and worked out of Mountainair for over 15 years. She enjoys the outdoors, camping in her home-made square drop, and photography. She is also involved with her church, Torrance County Farm & Livestock Bureau, New Mexico Groundwater Association, and Torrance County Emergency Resource Partners. You might catch her on her  e-bike all lit up and heading to sunrise service, fireworks displays, or balloon fiesta!

Sendero Supports Our Community

Sendero gives back to our local community by:

  • Donating to the Torrance County Farm and Livestock Bureau scholarship funds, 2023 and 2024

  • Donating to the Town of Mountainair 4th of July firework shows, 2022 through 2024

  • Donating door prizes to support the Torrance County DWI Prevention Program

  • Donating door prizes to support the Torrance County Farm and Livestock Bureau

  • Donating auction items to the Mountain States Groundwater Expo to support the Buck Lively Scholarship Fund
